Umm Al-Qura University; UQU Phage Research Unit; Phage Research UnitI did my MSc (2015) and PhD (2020) at Professor Martha Clokie’s lab at the University of Leicester supervised by her and Dr Ed Galyov. The knowledge and skills I gained in this lab have enabled me to establish a couple of phage research labs/groups in Saudi Arabia. We focus on phage isolation, phage therapy, food safety and biocontrol, phage bioinformatics and phage display as well. In addition to research role, I am a co-founder of Phage in Arabic initiative where we promote phage research and knowledge for scientists, students, physicians and officials in order to widen the applications of phages in Arabic countries. We are also open for collaboration and consultations regarding phage-based projects.
