Carina Rohmer
Fraunhofer Institute for Interfacial Engineering and Biotechnology; Fraunhofer IGB - Virus-based technologiesOur team has experience in conventional phage methodologies (screening, cultivation, detection, characterization). Further, detection and quantification on the molecular biological level and engineering is among our main issues. Further, among other applications, the usage of bacteriophages as surrogate e.g. for aerosol-carried virus assays is well established in our team.
My research activities comprise phage-host interactions on the biological and transcriptional level (RNAseq) as well as genetic manipulation of prophages in Staphylococcus aureus (PhD) at the Institute for Infection Biology at the University of Tübingen, Germany. Prior to that, I worked on "The Isolation and Characterization of Bacteriophages from Bacillus anthracis" (M. sc.) at the University of Hohenheim, Germany.
