The BASEL collection of E. coli phages has been expanded — 36 new ones have been added! These phages were deeply characterized genomically and phenotypically, from receptors to antiviral defense sensitivity to host range. Looking at the results, they see dominant roles of the O-antigen for host recognition, and of restriction-modification systems in bacterial immunity.
