John M. Eppley (University of the West of England) and colleagues published a new paper in PNAS entitled Marine viral particles reveal an expansive repertoire of phage-parasitizing mobile elements. They found that marine phage satellites are widely distributed and abundant in the global oceans, with greater diversity than has been previously reported.
