In collaboration with researchers at Brunel University London, a new UK synthetic biology company called CC Bio is developing phage lysins to target bacterial vaginosis caused by Gardnerella vaginalis. They've just received £250,000 in funding from Innovate UK, and will start by working toward preventing vaginal biofilms, a main reason antibiotics fail.
