BiomX has reported findings from a phase 1a clinical trial of its K. pneumoniae-specific phage candidate BX002. They randomized 18 healthy adults to take either a phage cocktail or placebo orally. They looked at viable phage in stool, and concluded they can deliver 10^10 PFU to the GI tract, thus meeting the requirements that would make oral phage administration feasible.
