Joseph Ancla

Hi! I am Joseph and I am currently working on synergism of lytic bacteriophages and plant extracts against multidrug resistant bacteria. My responsibilities in the lab include but not limited to sample collection, culture media and reagent preparation, isolation and purification of bacteriophages using plaque assay technique, propagation and determination of bacteriophage titer, spot test, host range analysis, bacterial cultures maintenance, nucleic acid purification of phage and host bacteria, polymerase chain reaction, gel electrophoresis, basic bioinformatics analysis of phage, records up-to-date laboratory notes, and utilizes safe laboratory protocols. I also review related literatures on phage research studies. I am very interested in collaboration with other researchers and research groups as well as in Masters, PhD or postdoctoral opportunities.
