Abiola Olaitan, PhD

Texas A&M University

Abiola is a Postdoctoral Associate at Texas A&M University, USA. His current research focuses on deciphering the molecular mechanisms of host-induced metronidazole resistance in Clostridium difficile. Prior to this, he had worked on dissecting the organismal response to acute bacterial infection/recovery in Caenorhabditis elegans. Abiola completed his PhD at Aix-Marseille University, France, working on the epidemiology and molecular mechanisms of colistin resistance in humans and farm animals. He is interested in research opportunities in phage therapy at the intersection of antimicrobial resistance in Canada. Outside the lab, he enjoys serving food at a local shelter and watching & discussing soccer.
