The Shanghai Institute of Phage (SIP) was established in Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center of Fudan University in August 2017. SIP is committed to the clinical research of phage therapy and it launched the first case-series study of phage therapy in China from 2018. At present, a collection of lytic phages target the most common ESKAPE strains were collected in our phage library (Front Microbiol, 2021); customized phage screened from the library were applied to treat more than 40 patients with multiple drug-resistant bacterial infections (urinary tract infection, respiratory tract infection, wound infection, etc.) in Shanghai Public Health Clinical Center and Zhongshan Hospital Fudan University; Some of the cases have been published in the journals including Emerg Microbes Infect (2020, 2021), Front Cell Microbial Infect (2021).
