We are interested in carbon cycling in environmental microbial communities, particularly in the (engineered) subsurface. We seek to understand contributions to microbial carbon cycling from all components of the community (bacterial, archaeal, fungal and viral), and the metabolic, microbe-microbe and microbe-environments that influence this.
