Our goal is to break the dependence of phages and host bacteria. Specifically, we are synthesizing phages completely in vitro and independent of the original pathogenic host. This solves three things:

1. Purity (our systems increases the ratio of phages to endotoxins by 100x)
2. Scalability of production (one system for all phages)
3. Throughput of phage engineering (no homologous recombination)
