VHAMSTeR predicts broad viral host groups
VHAMSTeR uses a genomic language model to assign viral sequences to broad host groups: animals, plants, fungi, protists or prokaryotes. It supports CPU or GPU inference and chunks longer genomes into 10 kb segments. Code is available through GitHub, PyPI and Bioconda; setup requires model downloads and agreement to the NTv3 base model’s non-commercial licence.
