UK public attitudes to phage therapy: survey of 787 people

PLOS ONE survey (N = 787, Prolific) of UK public awareness and acceptance of phage therapy found moderate acceptance, a mean likelihood of 4.71 on a 1-7 scale. Priming participants to think about novel medicines and antibiotic resistance raised acceptance, success and side-effect rates, treatment duration and approval status shaped preferences, and acceptance was higher when phage therapy was described without words such as "kill" and "virus".
