Study links a GtrB-like enzyme to Bacillus cereus phage susceptibility
Paul Tetteh Asare and colleagues report that a GtrB-like glycosyltransferase influences cell-surface properties and infection by phage BCP8-2 in Bacillus cereus. Their study links reduced phage adsorption to altered bacterial surfaces, particularly under cation-rich conditions, adding insight into phage–host interactions relevant to food biocontrol.
