Researchers report new phage genus Purivirus

Researchers at the Federal University of Juiz de Fora, Federal University of Viçosa and University of Córdoba reported the phage UFJF_PfDIW6, which lyses Pseudomonas fluorescens affecting milk quality. The article says ICTV accepted the proposed genus Purivirus; the phage is being evaluated against bacteria in food matrices.
