Quantifying phage-host dynamics using droplet microfluidics

A high-throughput droplet microfluidics platform co-encapsulates individual phages and bacteria to quantify single phage infection events, with control over exposure time and the phage-to-bacteria ratio. It measures lysis events and lysis kinetics without the progeny-driven infection that confounds bulk cultures, and is applicable to diverse phage-host systems.
