Preprint maps host determinants of mycobacteriophage infection with genome-wide CRISPRi

A Phage Foundry preprint screens a genome-wide CRISPRi library of Mycobacterium smegmatis against 70 mycobacteriophages. Outer-membrane Msp porins emerged as the dominant candidate receptor family for 46 phages, and determinant usage did not follow phage phylogeny.
