Phage Consultants’ PhageSense project receives EU funding to automate detection of phage contamination in fermentation

Phage Consultants (Marcin Łoś, Gdynia, Poland) is developing PhageSense, a platform for rapid, sensitive and repeatable detection of bacteriophage infections in bacterial cultures and industrial fermentation samples that combines fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry. The project, co-funded by European Funds for Pomerania 2021-2027 and running from 1 May 2026 to 31 August 2029, has a total value of PLN 3,368,078.52, of which PLN 2,253,705.06 is EU funding.
