P9ly study examines a phage lytic enzyme against resistant bacteria
The study characterizes P9ly, a lytic enzyme from bacteriophage PSD9. In laboratory experiments, it showed bacteriolytic and bactericidal activity against multidrug-resistant Shigella dysenteriae and Staphylococcus aureus strains; combining it with ceftriaxone sodium improved the antibacterial effect.
