NSW Government commits $3.5 million over two years to phage manufacture at Westmead (Phage Australia)

The Westmead Institute for Medical Research reports that the NSW Government committed $3.5 million over two years to address the manufacturing bottleneck in delivering phage therapy. Phage Australia, led from WIMR, says it has treated 30 patients in its national open-label trial (opened January 2022) but had to restrict recruitment for lack of high-quality phage preparations.
