iPHoP: integrated machine-learning framework to predict hosts of metagenome-derived phages and archaeal viruses
iPHoP, from the DOE Joint Genome Institute, is a two-step framework that integrates multiple methods to predict host taxonomy at the genus rank for viruses infecting bacteria and archaea while retaining a low false discovery rate. Applied to metagenome-derived virus genomes from the IMG/VR database, it provides extensive host predictions to guide characterization of uncultivated viruses.
