The IEME fund accepts applications throughout the year for short overseas research visits and conference participation. Researchers in their twenties or thirties, based in Japan, must work in one of the fund’s specified microbial biochemistry, ecology, evolution or electron-transfer fields. Support is generally up to ¥500,000 per visit.
