GenBankViz provides local genome viewing in the browser
GenBankViz is an MIT-licensed, Artemis-inspired browser viewer for GenBank genomes, including compressed files and multiple records. It supports feature and qualifier inspection, six-frame translation, exact nucleotide and peptide searches, and Artemis feature colors, with local file processing. It is an early-stage viewer, not an annotation editor: some complex locations are retained as warnings but not drawn, and circular origin-spanning behavior and very large-file performance remain future work. Offline use requires a local build; prebuilt desktop installers are not provided.
