ERC Advanced Grant PhageMatter: what determines phage-mediated control of microbial communities (University of Exeter)

PhageMatter, an ERC Advanced Grant project coordinated by the University of Exeter, runs from 1 January 2027 to 31 December 2031 with an EU contribution of €2,466,523. It uses a library of 46 characterised soil bacterial isolates and their phage to test when phage drive, rather than follow, the dynamics of microbial communities, with implications from ecosystem responses to the optimisation of phage therapy.
