DeepPL predicts phage lifecycle from genome sequences

DeepPL is a DNABERT-based tool for classifying complete phage genomes as lytic or lysogenic. Its repository provides FASTA preparation scripts, prediction code and links to the trained model, alongside the 2024 PLOS Computational Biology paper. It offers a computational screening step for phage and metagenomic research; a predicted lifecycle is not experimental validation.
