Biohub, DOE, NIH and tech partners commit $1.8 billion to AI-ready biological data

Biohub announced on October 7, 2026 that it, the US Department of Energy and the National Institutes of Health are investing $1.8 billion in funding, data, computation and measurement technology for AI-ready biological data under the Virtual Biology Initiative, with Google DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs and Meta adding $300 million.
