Australia's three-year GMP exemption for small-batch phage therapy products takes effect
Australia's Therapeutic Goods Administration says a three-year Good Manufacturing Practice exemption for the domestic manufacture of small-batch bacteriophage therapy products, used to treat an infection in a specific person or a small number of people, commenced on 8 September 2026 and stays in force until 7 September 2029. The change, made by the Therapeutic Goods Legislation Amendment (2026 Measures No. 1) Regulations 2026, follows the TGA's late-2025 public consultation.
