Andrew Favor (University of California, Berkeley and Nextbiotics, a California phage biotech company) and colleagues published a new paper in Scientific Reports on the new directed evolution-based phage engineering platform they've developed. In this paper they demonstrate the platform's ability to improve phage thermal stability, but it should also be useful for engineering other desired phage phenotypes.
