Where did our gut virome originate? A team of 117 authors (from 75 labs & 60 countries), led by Rob Edwards (SDSU) and Bas Dutilh (Utrecht University), has published an impressive new crAssphage study in Nature Microbiology showing how globally widespread crAssphage is among humans, how it’s even found in primates, and how it seems to be benign, as its presence doesn’t correlate with health or disease.
